Could Canker Sores In Mouth Be The Cause For Fever And Swelling In Throat?
about a week ago my girlfriend developed canker sores in her mouth, and then she spiked up a 102 fever and her throat was swelling up. We were at the hospital for 5 hours and the doctors and nurses could barely tell us anything. So does anybody have any idea on why canker sores can cause swelling of the throat and fevers?
Welcome and thanks for consulting me. I have carefully worked through your case, and realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon. Its the superadded secondary bacterial infection that causes fever and swelling in the throat. I am happy to know you seek medical help from a hospital.
May you get very well soon and have a wonderful time ahead. Please don't forget to give your valuable feedback and five star ranking, so that I may be in a better position to help you in future too.
