Could Chest And Underarm Area Pain Be A Fracture Or Pulled Muscle?
I was laying on my back under my car, lifting a heavy object to the side (so my body was twisted), when I heard a pop from my Left upper chest/under arm area...followed by immediate sharp pain in the area. It is difficult now to sleep, laugh or twist. Does it seem like this is a fractured rib or a pulled muscle/tendon/ligament?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury while lifting heavy object leading to your body twisted. It may be a muscular and soft tissue injury. However you should get chest x ray done to exclude rib fracture as you are having sharp pain. Treatment of it is rest, icing and analgesics (diclofenac ). Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside give relief. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.The se injuries may take nearly 15 days to got relief. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
