I am 11 days past ovulation today. I know I am because I take my basal body temp every morning at 5:15 am. I took a pregnancy test this morning, and it was negative. I realize it is still early, but that is not really my question. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS with insulin resistance and taking 2000mg of Metformin every day. I ovulated on cycle day 19, and I normally have a 15 day luteal phase. I have been experiencing some strange things this cycle. Before starting Metformin, my breasts would ache exactly 5 days past ovulation every month. My cervical mucus would dry up for the most part, and I only cramp the day of my expected period or the day before. This is my first cycle on Metformin, and so far, I have had watery and clear discharge (never had that before), intense sore breasts starting at 8 days past ovulation (started that evening), and period-like cramps the past several days. Today I haven t really cramped, but my left ovary-area hurts. I m not sure what to account for as possible pregnancy symptoms or if the Metformin could be causing all of these new happenings. I can t tell if my body is doing anything new because I don t know what is normal now that I am on medication. Could the Metformin be causing all of this? I am getting my hopes up that I could finally be pregnant, but I don t want to hold my breath if the Metformin is playing games with me...
