Could Congestion And Irritation In Throat Be Symptoms Of Sinus Infection?

I have chest congestion with wheezes, productive cough with yellow sputum, red irritated throat and ears, nasal congestion and intermittent drainage that is clear, headache and pressure behind the eyes, and temp of 96.8F. Is this all just sinus or could I also be dealing with a resp infection?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
Your symptoms are suggestive of problem which is not limited to sinus. Wheezing and chest congestion should not happen if it is just the sinus infection. You may be suffering from infection of lower respiratory tract.
You should get evaluated by a physician. Auscultation of chest along with some investigations should be carried out to arrive at the diagnoses. You may need a course of antibiotic if you have chest infection. You may also need to have medicines that widen the air passages to relieve wheezing.
Please visit your doctor for further management.
Hope this will be helpful.
I would be please to answer if you have any further questions.
Take care.
