Could Cough And Wheezing Be The Result Of Heartburn?

I have had a cough and wheezy throat for over 3 months now. Had a chest xray and everthing came out good. Went to a ENT and he told me it was drainage. I am concerned and I am so tried of coughing. Do you think this could be heartburn? I am a wine drinker.

Hi and thanks for the query,
Heartburn can be the cause for chronic cough.
Cough with wheezing can be due to ashma.
Longstanding sinusitis can also produce chronic cough due to post nasal drip.
To know the exact cause you need to undergo a complete examination of the respiratory system.
You need detailed examination of the larynx and may also need an upper GI endoscopy to look for acid reflux.
Regards, Dr Kishori.
