Could Dark Areas On Cheeks Be Sign Of Diabetes?

My husband has black cheeks, why does he have them? He has no medical insurance and Diabetes runs deep into his family. What are the common symtoms? His mother is blind and just lost a leg because of Diabetes, his grandmother has it, his brother has and a his sister has it. Do you think he has it too and what are the signs to watch. Thank you for your help

As your husband is having positive family history of diabetes its always important to keep some important points in mind.
Diabetes is a preventable disease.
the major symptoms of diabetes are,
1.excessive urination
2.excessive thirst
3.unexplained weight loss
4.non healing wounds and infections
5.excess hunger.
6.tiredness
things to follow to keep diabetes away
1.daily exercise for 45 mins
2.BMI should be kept between 20-24.5
3.proper diet with good amount of fiber and avoid sugar,carbonated drinks.
its advisable to go for diabetes check up once yearly after 40 yrs of age.
