Could Dark Brown Stools Be Due To The Residual Toxins From Liver?
Does pomegranate juice cause darker brown stools? Not stinky or bloody nor is black or tary just darker brown than usual. I completed herceptain treatment in March and am breast cancer free. Doing well feeling great. Blood work excellent . Drinking solle vital for detoxification. Do you think the darker brown stool has to do with residue toxins from the liver due to the chemo therapy prior to the herceptain ?
Pomegranate juice may cause the stool to get darker in color. You have a history of breast cancer and have taken herceptin for treatment. Sometimes, the side effect of herceptin also causes blood in urine or stool, black tarry stools, bleeding gums and decreased frequency of urination.
If you have some of the above mentioned symptoms, you are suggested to visit your treating doctor and get a follow up clinical examination done to ensure that there is no ulcer or bleeding from the upper portion of your digestive tract. You may have to get some blood workouts and Imaging tests done.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
