Could Delay In Periods And Swollen Stomach Be The Symptoms Of Pregnancy?
Hello, I think I may be pregnant but im not sure. Im having all the symtoms and a swollen belly. I've taken over 12 different home pregnancy tests 3 came back positive and the rest including a blood test was negative. My last cycle was April 12th and i believe i conceived early May.
Hi, Thanks for the query. Just by symptoms we cannot come to one conclusion regarding pregnancy. After around 12 weeks of gestation only uterus can be noticed abdominally. As your blood test for pregnancy was negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. You once consult gynecologist and go for ultrasound. Ultrasound helps in finding out the possibility of pregnancy. If pregnancy is not there, ultrasound can help in finding out the possible causes for delayed periods like poly cystic ovary disease etc. If your doctor recommends go for thyroid profile, prolactin levels estimation etc. With this workup the possible cause for your delayed periods can be identified and treated. You can take tablets to induce withdrawal bleeding with your doctor's advice. Take care.
