Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I took one pill just over a week ago to treat thrush. I think it was called Diflucan. My period was due two days ago. There was a trace of blood so I thought it was starting then nothing else happened. Can this recent treatment cause period to be late? I am usually very regular cycle.
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Diflucan is not known to disturb menstrual cycle. Delayed or scanty menses may happen due to many reasons like hormonal disturbance, emotional or mental stress, overexertion, etc. You have not mentioned if you have any other complains or you have taken any other medicines. Also, consider pregnancy if you are sexually active and had unprotected sex in recent times. Hope this will be helpful. Take care.
