Could Delayed Periods Along With Palpitations In Abdomen Be Due To Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 6 days late for my period, I am having changes in bowels, sometimes diarrhoea/ sometimes constipation. Gums bleed. Also having palpitations all over the body especially around lower abdomen, and mild pain in left and right sides which lasts only for few minutes. I am diagnosed with pcos and trying to concieve for 3 years. My periods are always regular. Could I be pregnant ? Or what are the other possible conditions? Pls explain.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
If you are suspicious of pregnancy, you can take up urine pregnancy test to confirm or rule out pregnancy.
Urine pregnancy test turns out to be positive 10-14 days after conception.
Delay in periods is common in healthy menstruating women so there is nothing to worry.
You can wait for few more days.
If the periods do not commence within few days, you need to consult your gynaecologist for clinical assessment.
Diarrhoea alternating with constipation can occur as a result of chronic constipation.
If the problem is recurrent, irritable bowel syndrome can be suspected.
Feeling of 'palpitation' around lower abdomen can be due to irregular movements.
I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment and thus management.
