Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I'm a 19 year old girl and I had sex with my boyfriend on 4th July. We had used a condom and he did not come inside me still to be safe I took and I pill. My expected period date is 16/17th but I still haven't got them. Is this because of the pill? If yes, then when can i get my period? Or is there a chance that I'm pregnant?
I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns. Pre-cum also known as pre-ejaculatory fluid can cause pregnancy as there might be motile sperms present in it even before the male ejaculates..... If you took the ipill within 72 hours of sex there are high chances of you not getting pregnant. Also you used condom while having sex I would say you don't need to worry for the time being,If you miss your periods by three weeks I would recommend you take a urine pregnancy test just to be confirm. Contraceptive pills have the side effect of causing the periods to come earlier or later than their due dates....it is a very common side effect. If your pregnancy test comes negative I would recommend you consult your local gynecologist for detailed clinical evaluation and further management as there can be multiple reasons fr menstrual irregularity.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
