Could Depression Along With Stiffness And Pain In Neck Be Due To Avapro?

I was having a lot of serious issues with depression, joint aches and pain, neck stiffness and pain, poor concentration, dreadful anxiety and no interest in life. I had been on Avapro for 4 years during which time these symptoms were extreme. Many blood tests, x-rays, MRIs did not provide a diagnosis. I ran out of Avapro medication and during the time I was without it in my system I noticed within a short space of time the before mentioned symptoms reduced significantly. The depression and anxiety lifted for the first time in years and I m back involved with life with great energy and achieving goals. Am i right in blaming Avapro for the debilitating symptoms? The only change i have made to my day to day living has been stopping the use of Avapro. Everything else has remained the same.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the Avapro contains lot of Irbesartan which is Angiotensin II receptor blocker.

* The stiff and pain in neck are secondary to electrolyte imbalance from the sudden stoppage of the Avapro.

* It is recommended to consult your doc on this regard for further dose adjustment ahead to cure it nice way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
