General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The opiates still secreted in the breast milk and that’s why the baby has been positive for the same.

Generally three to four months is required to eliminate the metabolic products, mean time you can use formula feeds instead of breast milk.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
