Could Diagnosed Giardias Infection 7 Months After Being Negative For HIV Test Indicate HIV Infection?
Hi,
I had a protected encounter with an unknowm female last july 2012. I took the follwoing test.
1. Rapid elisa test at 7/27 weeks months - Negative result
2. Rapid elisa test at 13 months along with HBSAG( Hep B)- Negative result.
Can you answer my 3 questions:
1. After my 7 months results i started having gastric problems trouble which is still continuing & I have been diagnosed with GIARDIS LAMBIA infection disease taking medication its been 7 months its still the same .. Please let me know if i am really negative and can move on with my life & inspite of having diagnosed with the GIARDIAS INFECTION after my7 months negative Hiv result - Am i free of HIV is it the cause of the cause of my infection
2. Secondly, after my seven months negative result i have started having sex with my wife without condom. Please let me know if i should be rest assured that I am not passing anything to her. we are planning to have kids
3. and if i take test now will i still be negative since i definetely know that my wife is negative
1. Giardiasis Lambia infestation can occur to anybody in the absence of HIV. I have come across Giardiasis infestation not less than two cases per month in individuals without HIV. Anybody having the habit of taking food outside the house are likely to get Giardiasis. 2.HIV test negative after 7 months --- You can very well have sex with your wife without condom. 3. If you were not having any other sexual relationship other than your wife and also so confident about the monogamous relationship of your wife with you, then you can confidently take another HIV test to see that you are free from HIV.
