Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had cateract surgery and lenses put in. all went well. then I had surgery for a torn retina (started seeing a white flashing light) and then developed a smudge that was removed. shortly after that I started seeing a kaleidoscope type thing in the corner of my left eye. this was in july. I was told this was not serious I also have macular degeneration but it is not advanced. since all this I cant see as good in my left eye. distance is fine. I can read but have to concentrate because the letters are a little distorted. I was also told the kaleidoscope thing is because the gel behind my eye is moving around. I was also just diagnosed with diabetes but my numbers are good. the letters are still distorted and now and then I still see the kaleidoscope. with all this my doctor told me im normal and to come back in a year. I would just like your opinion. could the distortion be because of what I've been through and the kaleidoscope im still seing? thanks
