Could Drowsiness And Restless Leg Syndrome Be Due To Combination Of Nexium And Lexapro?
I have been taking 3 milligrams of roprinole for restless leg syndrome about 10 years now. I do not take it at bedtime as I have a difficult time with RLS in the early evening. I also seem to be lethargic like I am half asleep but can comprehend still. Sometimes it is worse after a heavy evening meal. I am 60 years old 5 11 and about 75 lbs overweight. I don t smoke or drink. I get physicals every 6 months and informed the doctor about how I feel in the early evenings especially after I eat and when I take the medicine later. He said that the heavy meals will make you sleepy. I am also taking: 10 mg of Zeita/ 40mg of Nexium/ 10mg of a generic Lexapro 10mg blood pressure medicine Will these combinations cause these side effects in the evening and this RLS is very miserable and is now starting to effect me when I drive in a car for a long distance. My legs feel jumpy and ache. I am at the point where I have considered asking for a mild muscle relaxer when I have to travel long distances in a car. Please give me an answer.
I dont think that combination of these medications is responsible for RLS. In people with mild to moderate restless legs syndrome, lifestyle changes, such as beginning a regular exercise program, establishing regular sleep patterns, and eliminating or decreasing the use of caffeine, alcohol, andtobacco, may be helpful.
Leg massages, Hot baths or heating pads or ice packs applied to the legs, Good sleep habits, Medications may be helpful but are used only in severe cases and may be, Neupro, and Requip or benzodiazepines. Anticonvulsants, or antiseizure drugs, such as Tegretol, Lyrica or Neurontin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
