General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Having this much rise in white blood count indicates that there might be having some severe infection in his body leading to loss of energy, tiredness, fatigue etc.
As there is h/o emphesema in the past, lower respiratory tract infection is likely.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
Take plenty of water and liquids.
Go for deep breathing exercises.
Ok and take care.
