Could Elevation Of Liver Enzymes Be Due To Alcohol Intake?

Yes, please! I am a sixty-eight year old female with a twenty year history of heart disease and use of Lipitor. At one time I was taking 80 mg. for almost three years I have been following Dr. Esselstyn's plant based/no oil diet following a bypass for a almost total blockage at the top of the Left Main. As a result, I have lost fifty pounds, my blood pressure is normal without medication, I have eliminated my severe sleep apnea, and my current dose of Lipitor is 10 mg. I have had three perfect stress tests since changing my diet. My recent bloodwork indicated elevated liver enzymes.six months ago AST was 20, it is now 56. Six months ago ALT was 17, now is 50. Primary recommended stop all alcohol use and retest in four weeks and be tested for Hepatitis. I had been having a glass of wine with dinner approx. 5 days weekly. Could the alcohol do this? I would like to stop the Lipitor. Current lipid profile: Total-128, HDL 39, LDL-67, Triglcerides-128
