Could Eye Swelling And Redness Be Related To Previous Sinus Surgery?
I am a 53 year old male 6 ft 1 tall weighing 127 kilos. I am fairly healthy however I suffer from gout on occasions otherwise my blood pressure is good and I am active. Six days ago I noticed a swelling under my right eye to the right side of my nose which developed without any pain. It since has caused my right eye to be red and I am wondering what may be causing it . In July 2012 I had to have an operation to clear my sinuses which was successful. Is it likely that the problem ihavn t now is related. I look forward to hearing your opinion. Thank you Ken Ageidu Republic of Nauru, Central Pacific
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having a swelling under the right eye towards the nose associated with redness of the eye. This can be because of dacryocystitis, which indicates inflammation of the lacrimal sac. Since sinus surgery was successful it is unlikely to be the cause in your case. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Thank you With regards
