Hi.. Balloon sinuplasty is an endoscopic surgical procedure done for the treatment of chronic sinusitis.. Here a balloon is used which is placed at the sinus openings through endoscopic technique. And using this balloon the openings are widened.. It is similar to stent application procedures.. It is less painful when compared to the other nose surgeries.. A local anaesthetic is sprayed into the nostril which decrease the sensation.. All that you may feel is a little discomfort or irritation as the endoscope passes through the nostril and not more than that.. All the best...
Balloon Sinuplasty is one of the newer options to treat chronic sinusitis. Have you had a CT Scan of the Para Nasal Sinuses? This will help decide which problems can be addressed by the use of balloon sinuplasty and which may require other methods of treatment. It is definitely an expensive option at present.
