Could Fatigue, Weakness And Anxiety Be Due To Sarcoid Flare Up In A 70 Year Old?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...my mom a 70 y/0 female c/o increasing debilitating fatigue, weakness, anxiety, wt loss 10-15 lbs in 2 mos, constipation, loss of taste, cold intolerance, hair loss. hx: cad, htn and sarcoidosis . all labs wnl. GI and cardiac w/u negative. wondering if could have atypical sx. of a sarciod flare up or systemic sarcoid. how would dx and tx?

As sarcoidosis is an autoimmune disease,which causes inflammatory changes to different organs of body..Mostly lungs and joints and heart.
If it is already diagnosed,then what treatment your Mom has been taking.Is she on steroids for long time..As steroids can also cause these symptoms.
In my opinion get chest x_ray done and Serum calcium level to rule out and recurrence of sarcoidosis.Other tests you may need Anti nuclear antibody tests and bone scan, but first go for simpler tests.
If she is having other medicines,check out for the side effects of those medicines and discuss with your consultant.
