Hi, I had a coil fitted (a contraception device) 4weeks ago, and I'm not sure if it's anything to do with why I'm feeling ill but I was wondering if you could help me.. For the past week I've been feeling drained, can't be bothered doing anything around the house I have no energy to even look after my 4 months old son, I feel sick, I've lost my appetite to a lot of food can only eat sweets or chocolate if I don't feel sick at that moment, I have lower back pain, my bowels are not normal, I have a fever and a bangin headache my temperature is 38.2, thank you hope you can help me.

Hello,

Sometimes the implant can cause local infection and inflammation and lead to development of fever and other systemic symptoms. Consult your gynecologist and make sure that the implant is misplaced or not. If there is signs of infection, it has to be removed and re inserted. As of now you can take Acetaminophen for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
