Could Foggy Eyesight With Black Spots And Movement Around Head Post Brain Injury Indicate Seizures?

Hi. I had a traumatic brain injury 14 months ago. Recently I have had a lot of movement around my head, nerves I think that were tight are being loosened. Three weeks ago there was a lot of movement on the left side and slight headache. After a couple of days I had something odd with my vision, it went black and white and faded till I could not see for about 2 minutes then it came back in black and white and gradually in color. For the next two weeks after I had foggy eye sight... and saw black spots.. but one night I dreamt I had a seizure (never had one before) - during this time also I have had a spot on the upper left of my head that has been sore - in my dream it felt like something drilling into it and that s when I dreamt I had the seizure. When I woke in morning my eye sight was back to normal, also my eyes that were blood shot for the past 2 weeks had now cleared. Other than tiredness back to normal. (Though I have never been the same since the injury). Any thoughts on whether I did have a seizure of some kind. Cathy

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The foggy eyesight with black spots and movement around head does not indicate seizures at a period of 14 months. There can be visual disturbances at the level of Retina or optic nerve conduction pathway responsible for such issue. Kindly get a detailed Opthalmologist evaluation with your expert for best possible evaluation and further guidelines of management. Till that time, continue to do splashing of both eyes with cold water and avoid straining at eye sight by use of mobile or television.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
