Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a paramedic with a basic knowledge of Lisinopril which I have taken for several years. Recently I missed 3 days (this has never happened in past) and when I started taking it again I had frequent urination with a strong urge to go for around 36 hours. I have no UTI or other associated symptoms. My dose is Lisinopril 20 mg q 12 hours. I checked the new pills to make certain that the pharmacy did not give me something with HCTZ but they are exactly what I have always taken. Pill color, size, shape, and ID numbers are the same. I initially attributed this to increased renal flow when I restarted the medication but Lisinopril is not known to affect MAP or volume increase despite increasing sodium dumping and KCL retention. I can not find an answer to this despite researching the topic. My life did not change otherwise and this has resolved after about 36 hours but I think it is interesting. Any ideas would be appreciated and I can research further. Thank you. Troy
