Could Giant Cell Tumour On Finger Be Related To Breast Cancer?

I had a giant cell tumour on my left index finger removed approximately 12 years ago, since that time i have had mucinsous carcinoma (breast cancer) twice. I completed chemotherapy post a double mastectomy approximately 1 year ago. It appears the GCT has returned in a different joint on the same finger on which in originated. Is there any relationship between CGT and breast cancer?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
There is no relationship between giant cell tumor of finger and mucinous carcinoma of breast.
Giant cell tumor of finger is a benign tumor arising from bone and mucinous carcinoma is a malignant tumor of breast.
Giant cell tumor is cured in majority of cases with surgical excision, however, it can recur.
Mucinous carcinoma is malignant tumor but it responds well to treatment and has good prognosis.
Thus, the two are not related and are managed separately.

Thanks and take care
