Could Hair Loss Have Been Caused By The Intake Of Levothyroxine?

I was put on levothyroxine about 2-3 years ago. My level at the time was 4.7 & I was tired all the time. I felt better when my level was around 3.3 -3.5. I d been taking alternating 50 & 75. Had my level checked & it had dropped down to 2.0, & I was feeling a little weird, then I started loosing hair, & I ve never lost hair. Could that be the reason?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, this can be the reason.
Yoi might be taking higher dose of levothyroxin which is causing iatrogenic hyperthyroidism (drug induced).
And this is causing hair loss, weird feeling etc.
So better to get done detailed thyroid function test (free T3, free T4, TSH).
And if free T3 and free T4 are high then you will get have told reduce the dose of levothyroxin tablet.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
