Could Having Zoladex Implants Worsen The Symptoms Of COPD?

My husband has had COPD for 7 years. He had Zoladex implants for 2 yrs for prostate cancer which is now in remission. Since Zoladex has a 5% chance of causing COPD, is it reasonable to assume the treatment worsened his symptoms? His lung function deteriorated rapidly even though he had quit smoking.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

There are many factors that can cause the respiratory condition to worsen like weather, immunity, chronic conditions, steroid use, time of course, etc.

I doubt the zoladex could be solely responsible in the worsening but it could have contributed mildly.

Best wishes.
