Could Headache, Ear Pain And Fainting Be Due To Eardrum Rupture?

My son ruptured his eardrum by someone spraying cold water in his ear while at football practice. He passed out for about 15 seconds and was in alot of pain. He has a football game tonight and makes a big hit, causing him to have more ear pain and headache and pass out again! Will the ruptured eardrum cause this kind of reaction? A CT scan was performed and is negative! Thanks

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi.
Headache, ear pain and fainting - all may occur due to rupture of ear drum.
Water should not be allowed to enter the ear . Mostly it heals in 8 to 12 weeks time on its own. If it fails to heal completely in 12 weeks time, it may require surgical repair.
Thanks.
