Could Headaches Be Related To The Fractured Skull?

About 3 weeks ago I had a non-contrast MRI done of my neck. I am 54 years old. When I was 5 years old I suffered a fractured skull about 3 inches above my left ear. I had a small (approx. 1 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches aluminum plate inserted under my skin and over the fracture. This issue was brought up before having the MRI and I was advised this would not cause potential problem. Since then I have been having headaches with regularity, not severe like a migraine, but at 1 point almost on a daily basis. The pain seemed to be isolated primarily in my forehead area and sometimes in the eye socket area. Admittedly I have battled a cold off and on for the past few weeks so I wonder if the headaches are strictly related to that. Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
