Could Hemorrhoids Cause Swelling Of Anus And Diarrhea?
hemorrhoids, age 35, weight 72 kilograms, i had diarrehea for 2 days following which my anus is really swollen. i have had fissure earliear. there is no bleeding yet but the swollen ,protruding anus is causing a lot of pain and discomfort. can i take a tablet to cure it. what are the other steps to treat this?
There is no pill that can cure hemorrhoids, but the most effective treatment is to make sure that you aren't straining when you have bowel movements. I see a lot of patients in my clinic for hemorrhoids, and very rarely due I recommend operations to remove them. I tell all of my hemorrhoid patients to make sure that they aren't straining when they have bowel movements, and to use a stool softener and fiber regularly to make sure that there bowel movements are soft (toothpaste consistency). I'd also recommend sitz baths after each bowel movement. Epson salts in the bath can sometimes help as well with the discomfort. Both are available over the counter at any pharmacy. The fact that you don't have any bleeding is a good sign, and you should be able to treat this. If you can keep your bowel movements soft and not strain, this should get better in a month or so.
I hope this is helpful. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
