Could High BP And Elevated Heart Rate Have Been Caused By Clindamycin?

I ve taken clindamycin before but when I took it today before my dental appt, I ended up at the ER 45 minutes later. My blood pressure was 190/110 and heart rate was elevated. I had diarrhea, I felt nauseous and dizzy, weak and couldn t focus my eyes. The ER Doctor said if it was from a different manufacturer, they could ve used one diff component and my body didn t like it. All my labs, urine and chest X-ray were great. Any thoughts?

Hi welcome to HCM...

As such Clindamycin doesnt lead such a sharp shoot in blood pressure ...

You might have preexisting high blood pressure ..
The history regrading drug intake also should be taken..

Its good that you have consulted er immediately and strated treatment for that ..
Regular monitoring of blood pressure done and close clinical watch up necessary ...

If your blood pressure after few days remain elevated than you are hypertensive and treatment needed ..

Take care
