Could High BP Be Related To Viral Fever?
Hi, thank you for posting. I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns. Viral fever can elevate blood pressure, but not so high. In this case, high blood pressure is caused by Diabetes mellitus. In general, patients that suffer from Diabetes mellitus are affected by hypertension, too. Your father needs the following tests for the diagnosis: 1. Electrocardiogram. 2. Heart doppler ultrasound. 3. Lipid test. 4. Blood test for azotemia and creatinina. 5. Complete blood count. He should also check his blood pressure everyday for 2 weeks. The results of the above tests will show the exact diagnosis. He should consult his cardiologist for the treatment. All the best. Dr. Behar.
