Could High TSH With Normal T3 And T4 Effect Fetus In Pregnancy?
Hi, I am 18wks pregnant with second child, had total thyroidectomy in January due to Graves Disease. Was slightly hyper in first trimester, lowered my dose slightly to 100mcg per day, now my TSH is 50!! T3 and T4 are normal. How can I have high TSH with normal T3 and T4, and can this affect my baby? I'm very worried and I can't get to a specialist as I've got Shingles and have just overcome Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (just my luck!) Please help!
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic. it is common to have raised TSH with normal T3 and T4. it can affect the growth and brain of the baby so you should start taking eltroxin after consulting an endocrinologist.
