I have goiters associated with hypothyroidism and about a week ago I experienced some slight pain in my neck. On Monday 5/24/11 I noticed some bruising on my neck. The bruises are nickle to quarter size and they are in circular pattern on the area of neck where pain was noticed. Could my thyroid be causing the bruising?
Bruising in the neck are not typically related to thyroid pathologies but you need to check the blood count and some other specific tests as your physician will prescribe after a careful clinical examination and personal history. If you are taking actually medications such as: aspirin, corticosteroids ect.
Contact immediately your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
