Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could I Pill Cause Severe Mood Fluctuations And Periodic Fevers?
i am 18 and i took two ipills within last week due to sex. Now im having severe mood fluctuations and periodic fevers which last around an hour. Im also having excessive sweat. Please let me know whether these are due to the ipill and how can i get rid of this problem?
Emergency contraceptive pills like I-pill alter the estrogen-progesteronehormonal balance in your body. This can cause symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloating, mood swings and hot flashes. Your symptoms seem to be common side effects of the pill. I would however not recommend using I-pill regularly as it is meant to be used as an emergency. Try to use planned contraception as much as possible. Keep an eye on the fevers. If you get high persistent fever, you should consult your local doctor to check for a possible infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
