Could Increase In Weight Be Due To Hormonal Changes After The Tubes Being Tied?

Since I had my tubes tied I have increasingly been gaining weight. At first it was small maybe 10 pounds a month but the more I change my diet and exercise it seems the more weight I gain. In the last year I ve gained over 100 pounds and am on a low carb low fat low sugar diet. I walk over 5 km everyday on top of yoga and kickboxing. I don t know what else to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear, thanks for the question.

Firstly Tube ligation doesn't interfare with hormone production. So it is not related to weight gain. Since you are gaining weight at very fast rate inspite of regular physical exertion and controlled diet, you need to consult a general physician or endocrinologist (if available) and undergo detailed investigation to bring out the cause behind it.

I wish you a healthy living ahead.
