Could Increased Pain In Tooth Due To Abscess Be Related To Shingles On Face?

Five years ago I had shingles on the right side of my face. I am now fifty eight years old and having an abscess tooth on the right side . I have had this experience a few times before but this time I am in excruciating pain similar to the shingle pain. Can this increase of pain be related to shingles?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if you have an abscessed tooth the pain is not due to Shingles but it is due to ABSCESS only as the pus formed puts pressure over the nerves present in the area under the root tips of the tooth and pressure is more when there is no escape way for pus and cause severe pain..
You need to consult a dentist, get an x Ray done and if tooth can be saved ROOT CANAL TREATMENT can be done followed by antibiotics and painkillers and if cannot be saved Extraction is advised..
As of now take antibiotics like Augmentin and painkillers like TRAMADOL for relief..

Hope this information helps.

Thanks and regards.
