Could Inflamed Tonsils Along With White Pus Pockets Be Due To Tonsillitis?

I had strep and took antibiotics. It didn t get better so I went back and got some different antibiotics. Still didn t help. Both of my tonsils are inflamed. One has a little bit of white pus on them and the other one has red lines on it. Could this be tonsillitis?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain symptoms of inflammation of tonsils as well as pus pocket on it seems to be due to bacterial infection..
Other causes of inflammation of tonsils can be upper respiratory tract infection, acid reflux, sinusitis, post nasal drip etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations, gargle with a numbing mouthwash to relieve pain.
Take Ibuprofen to relieve inflammation and pain..
You should avoid hot and spicy food..
Suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
