Could Insomnia Be Due To Hormonal Imbalance?

HELLO, I HAVE SUFFERED FROM INSOMNIA FOR OVER 20 YEARS. I HAVE WENT TO SLEEP STUDIES AND ALL THEY CAN TELL ME IS THAT I HAVE A FAST MOVING BRAIN. I CAN NOT TAKE ANY TYPE OF SLEEPING PILL DUE TO NIGHT EATING SINCE I HAVE HAD GASTRIC BYPASS AND ANTI DEPRESSION MEDICINE WORKS OPPOSITE ON ME. I HAVE RECENTLY BECOME AWARE THAT HORMONE ISSUES COULD PLAY A BIG ROLE IN SLEEP AND I STARTED WITH INSOMNIA SHORTLY AFTER HAVING A HYSTERECTOMY. COULD HORMONE PROBLEMS BE THE ANSWER TO SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. IF IT COULD BE HOW LONG AFTER WOULD IT TAKE FOR ME TO START SLEEPING NORMALLY AGAIN?????
