I just started taking medformin 1000 mg twice a day. been on it for two weeks and last friday I started having blurred vision and still have it. could medformin cause this. my doctor said medformin does NOT cause blurred vision Im also doing hyperbaric . blurred vision does occur with HBOT , but at 20 dives Im only on 7 dives. they can t figure out what is causing my blurred vision. I don t know what to do.
Incomplete data like age, gender, purpose of using HBOT.
Metformin is an effective oral antidiabetic medication which is generally safe. Its most common side effects include stomach upset, loose motions, headache, metallic taste and lactic acidosis which is very rare.
It is unlikely to cause blurring of vision until otherwise if it is due to cataract (lens opacity) caused by uncontrolled diabetes.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is generally a safe procedure. However, it can cause temporary eye lens changes resulting in myopia ("near sightedness") and thus blurring of the vision.
Consult your treating physician to adjust the dose of HBOT. Hope this will help.
