Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Itchy, Red, Sensitive And Painful Skin On Face With Mild Acne Indicate Skin Rash?
The sides of my skin are very itchy and have small bumps all over them. My cheeks are very sensitive and red, abd hurt when touched after washed, but no bumps. My forehead is not affected, just the usual blemishes and mild acne. Is it a skin rash or maybe rosacea?
I have gone through your query. The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards condition called rosacea as you also mention above .It occur due to dilation of small blood vessels which is a kind of genetic condition triggered by various factors like sun exposure and stress .
Mild rosacea do not require any treatment . I would suggest you to wash your face with very light soap, apply cream containing Azelaic acid and any anticeptic cream .
If condition doesn't improve or get worse then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out other conditions like atopic dermatitis.Doctor may prescribe you antibiotic cream like metronidazol or oral antibiotics(amoxicillin) .Laser therapy is also one of the treatment option.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
