Could Joint Pain Be Due To Reaction To Simvastatin?
I am having increased (joint?) pain lately. Or it may be ligament or tendon discomfort. At the moment it's on the top of my foot, requiring me to limp. At other times, the inner thigh or hip. Can this be a reaction to simvastatin? I am a very active 71 year old.
Hello and welcome to health care magic forums. Simvastatin is not known to have any direct role in causing joint pain. However it can precipitate gouty arthritis if you are a susceptible individual. So my advice is to visit an orthopaedic specialist and let him do a uric acid estimation. Your site of pain is also one of the commonest location of gout inflammation. Thank you for consulting with us.
