Could Labial Herpetic Lesion Be A Symptom Of HIV Infection?

I m 21 year old mexican male. During september 2013 I had an acute fever, a single localized swollen lymph node under my jaw, multiple oral ulcers in my tongue, palate, and gums (but not on my lips or around the mouth). Eating was painful and difficult. I never had a labial herpetic lesion before in my life. This episode lasted around a week. Back then I had a girlfriend and she had oral herpes (thought, I don t remember if she had an outbreak some days or weeks before my sickness). After that episode, I haven t had labial lesions to appear. Could that had been herpetic gingivostomatitis or seroconversion syndrome from a HIV infection? I m extremely worried thinking about it in retrospection.
