Could Light Brown Discharge Before Periods Indicate Pregnancy?

I ve been getting a very light brownish discharge when I wipe after I pee for about two days before my expected period. Today was supposed to be the day of my expected period but the very light brown is on and off. Does this mean I m about to get my period should I just be patient and wait or am I still possibly pregnant? (I took a pregnancy test today and it came out negative)

Hello,

You are having a light brown discharge, if you had unprotected sex and were not on regular CP / implant or any other contraceptive method & did not take any emergency CP within 72 hours of pregnancy then you can be pregnant. It can be indicative of implantation bleeding. Other factors that may cause similar symptoms are old blood that mixes with vaginal fluid can also appear like brownish discharge.

Medical conditions that can cause brownish discharge are PCOS, PID, hormonal imbalance, use of contraception, ovarian cysts, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get USG (Uterus with fallopian tubes) done to detect pregnancy or to rule out ectopic pregnancy and any other pathology that may be causing you symptoms. You will be accordingly managed and treated. Stay away from addictions if any.
