Hello, I have been on my oral birth control for about a year or a little less. It regulated my periods that were once either non existent to it only occurred every 4-6 months. I have a regular period but I ve noticed it becoming lighter and shorter. I started my period and it s very light ,almost like spotting. Could I be pregnant? I take my pill on time daily.
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I want to tell you that you must not be pregnant for sure. When you use these pills the periods are like normal periods but are reactionary bleeding when you take placebos in your pill pack.
Also, due to effect of hormone, the periods becomes scanty and less and that of 2-3 days only with spotting. This is perfectly normal and no need to worry about. These pills suppress Ovulation so that chances of pregnancy are almost deleted. But To b 100% sure I would like you to take a home Urine pregnancy test 15 days apart. I'm sure nothing will come up but you will be at peace of your mind.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
