Could Lighter Periods And Discharge Be The Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

I had sex about three months ago. I am on birth control, we used a condom, and he pulled out. I have had my period the last two months on the exact day it was supposed to come. Normally my periods are extremely heavy, but these have been extra light and short. I have been experiencing a lot of discharge as well. Could I be pregnant?

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

I understand that you had sex 3 months ago using condoms. After that you had two light periods and discharge.

There is always a chance of pregnancy, though extremely low as you have used precautions. Also check to see if you are having other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fatigue. If these are not there, chances are even lower.

The best way to rule this out is by getting a urine pregnancy test done using a morning urine sample. If it is negative, see your gynecologist and have the cervix and vagina examined for infection or other causes like polyps [small non cancerous tumors of the cervix] or erosion. If there is an infection, simple vaginal tablets will help controlling it.

Do not worry as the chances of pregnancy are very low and get the tests done. You will be all right.

Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using Health Care Magic.
I would be happy to answer any further queries.
Have a nice day.
