Could Long-term Intake Of Trazodone Cause Neuropathy In The Toes And Knees ?

I have been taking Trazodone for about 6 years. It helps me sleep. I take 50mgs to 100mgs nightly. Four years ago I started getting Neuropathy in my toes and it has slowly progressed into Poyneuropathy up to my knees. Could Trazodone possibly be a cause?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you've developed neuropathy in your legs. Your question about Trazadone is understandable since most medications have many side effects, and sometimes they have side effects you wouldn't expect. I have never seen Trazadone cause any nerve problems, and it is not reported as ever having this side effect, so I would say your polyneuropathy is almost certainly not due to the Trazadone.

There are many causes of neuropathy, and you may need a thorough work-up by your doctor if it is not immediately clear what is causing it. I hope that helps, and that your doctor can find the cause of your neuropathy and help control it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
