General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pregnancy test taken 10 days after missed period or 2 weeks after sex will give you reliable results avoiding false negative. Repeat the test if applicable. Negative result will suggest the need to rule out any hormonal imbalance such as ovarian cysts or hypothyroidism.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
