Could Lump In The Calf Be Due To Clotting Of Blood?
My wife has a small lump in the calf of her right leg. She has just returned home from a weekend 10/10 to 13 in the hospital for treatment of a stroke. We are concerned that the lump may be a blood clot. She is on a blood thinner and other medications.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lump in the calf . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , sebaceous cyst , ingrown hair follicle , varicose vein , haematoma , ganglion , localized infection or clot formation which is rare chance . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses , keep that area clean , keep your leg elevated while lying down and apply moisturizer . If it doesn't subside or get worse then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may drain the cyst , prescribe antibiotics or may refer you to cardiologist in case of clot .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
