Could Lumps At Back Of Head And Neck Be Due To Having The Habit Of Picking At Head When Stressed?

Hi, when i get anxious and stressed i pick at my head quite badly.. I have noticed a couple of lumps at the back of my head and neck--would they most likely be swollen lymph nodes? Also, lately I feel very tired and unwell..is that just because i am stressed and have a lot on--or could all the pickin gof my head be making me feel unwell?

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Picking at your head can cause some inflammation and in that way stimulate lymph nodes enlargement. However as you have tiredness, other possible reasons of enlarged lymph nodes should be also considered. Especially if you also have weight loss and night sweating.
I suggest you to consult your doctor, have physical examination and ultrasound of this lumps. In case of enlarged lymph nodes biopsy might be necessary.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
